Gisele Bündchen retired her strut at the São Paulo Fashion Week on April 15 after 20 years of modeling. She graced the runway one last time at the Colcci show in front of a home crowd in her native Brazil.
The Brazilian supermodel, who is married to Tom Brady, explained her surprising move in a statement given by her publicists a few weeks ago, making it clear she wishes to spend more time with family.
Brady had a front-row seat to what was dubbed a historic moment in Brazilian fashion history. The 34-year-old model shared her views on retirement on Instagram.
“I am grateful that at 14, I was given the opportunity to start this journey. Today after 20 years in the industry, it is a privilege to be doing my last fashion show by choice and yet still be working in other facets of the business.”
Bündchen took the stage three times on Wednesday night, marking the end of her modeling career in jeans and a cropped tank that read “the best is yet to come”.
